Center for Childhood Safety (CCS) & Greater Green Bay SAFE KIDS Coalition
The Center for Childhood Safety joined St. Vincent Hospital and continues to partner with the Northeast Wisconsin community to proactively promote, support, endorse, and conduct educational initiatives focused on reducing preventable childhood injuries that may lead to disabilities and death.
Unintentional injury kills more kids every year than any other cause – including disease, homicide, and suicide. In Green Bay we are fortunate to have excellent medical facilities and physicians who care about the health and safety of our children and their families. The Center for Childhood Safety and the member organizations of the Greater Green Bay SAFE KIDS Coalition are here to provide support to this already successful system of care by providing the prevention piece that is so greatly needed and requested.
By bringing together area agencies actively involved in childhood safety, a network of resources known as the Greater Green Bay SAFE KIDS Coalition was established to link families with the information they are seeking regarding safety. With representation from local law enforcement, our areas hospitals, clinics and health departments as well as the many social service organizations that serve our community, the members of the Greater Green Bay SAFE KIDS Coalition strive to find the areas of unmet need in our community and bring those issues to the foreground by providing families with educational programming and events.
Prevention focused programs provided by CCS include:
SAFETY TOWN
CAR SEAT SAFETY CHECKS
Listed above are some highlights from The Center for Childhood Safety’s educational offerings. There are many other topics and resources that the CCS would be happy to link you with.
For further information, please call: (920) 448-7135 or e-mail and we can put together a program to meet your needs. Have a safe day!
