It’s our mission to provide the best chance for a healthy outcome.
For mother and baby.

What are the causes of high-risk pregnancy?

Every woman hopes for a healthy pregnancy.

But sometimes challenges arise. When those challenges mean the mother, baby, or both have a higher-than-average chance of experiencing complications, the pregnancy is considered high-risk.

Some examples include:
• Chronic medical condition that may affect your pregnancy
• Previous pregnancy-related complications
• History of pregnancy loss

Age, health, genetics, and past pregnancy outcomes all affect your risk for complications. Medical conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can also increase your chances of having a complicated pregnancy.

Your OB/GYN will talk with you about these possible risks.
Dr. Allahyar Jazayeri, MD, PhD, a top regional perinatologist, is available to explain and recommend the proper tests to help determine your risk level. We’ll also help you learn about all of the treatment options available and work with you throughout your pregnancy.
