Patient AmenitiesTelephones and Cell Phones
It is important to stay in touch with family and friends while you are hospitalized. Telephones are provided in all hospital rooms with the exception of those on the Stress and Critical Care Units.

Calling from a Patient Room
To make a local call from your room, dial "9" then the number. Long distance and toll calls may be completed using a calling card by dialing “9,” the 800 number on the calling card, and then the number you are calling.  Or you may dial “0” and ask the switchboard operator to assist you.

Cell Phones
Use of cellular phones is allowed in public areas of the hospital.  However, due to potential interference with electronic medical equipment, cell phones and other wireless communication devices should be turned off when you are within three feet of medical equipment.

House Phones
For your convenience there are "House" phones in various locations throughout the hospital. These phones can be found at the Van Buren Street Entrance, the Gift Shop Entrance, the Webster Street "Emergency Center” Entrance, and in patient/family waiting areas.
