The
facts
1
in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer
in their lifetime. Over 40,000 women will die from breast
cancer this year. However, with early detection,
the 5 year survival rate is over 95%. That’s why
St. Vincent Hospital and WBAY-TV2 have teamed up
to educate women on the importance of screening for early
detection and motivate them to have a mammogram.
While
the growing number of new cases of breast cancer
is alarming it is also a reflection of the advanced
technology currently available for early detection.
The fact is doctors can detect breast cancer much
earlier than in the past and early detection mens
greater survival. Follow the breast health and
