A practice driven team providing opportunity for discussion, referral, and decision-making
regarding practice and patient care issues. The organizational goal is to empower
the members to carry out their decisions related to defining, promoting, and
evaluating nursing practice.
The objectives include:
1. Identify issues relating to patient care and clinical practice.
2. Develop strategies to resolve issues, make decisions and
support the implementation of process change.
3. Facilitate open discussion with all disciplines to drive clinical
outcome improvement.
4. Improve the quality of patient care and clinical outcomes through
evidence based practice.
5. Assure consistent nursing practice and standardization. |

Operations Council
Promotes effective management of the professional nursing
practice environment
The goal is to provide a supportive work atmosphere for all
nursing professionals. The objectives include:
1. Provide appropriate resources.
2. Improve the efficiency of operations.
3. Support patient care operations.
3. Advanced Practice Council
The goal of the Advanced Practice Council is to enhance clinical expertise
that results in the
demonstration of optimal patient outcomes. This is accomplished through mentoring,
role
modeling, consultation, education and research.
The objectives include:
1. Providing support/expertise related to patient care and clinical practice
issues
2. Raising the level of nursing professionalism by promoting critical thinking
and integration of research and evidence-based practice into nursing practice

4. Unit Level Practice Management
Each unit will be responsible for developing their own
process for addressing Nursing Practice issues and two-way communication
with the Clinical Care Council. This is a partnership between
nursing management, nursing staff, and the CNS/Advanced Practice
Nurse.
Activity will focus on:
1. Improvements in care.
2. Patient and family satisfaction.
3. Evaluation of services.
4. Implementing advances in patient care.
