Volunteers
are key members of the St. Vincent Hospital family. They
help carry out St. Vincent Hospital’s healing mission
while demonstrating the Hospital’s values of Respect,
Care, Quality and Joy. More than 650 volunteers serve
in 50 different areas of the Hospital. Some have regularly
scheduled hours while others serve “on-call” for
special projects. Volunteers perform a variety of important
services such as:
- providing clerical support or staffing reception desks
in waiting areas.
- delivering hot meals to the homebound
- escorting or transporting patients within the Hospital
Auxiliary
The
St. Vincent Hospital Auxiliary is a special group of more
than 200 volunteers who socialize as well as perform service
in the Hospital. Auxilians run the Hospital
Gift Shop and sponsor other fund-raising activities such
as the Fashion Show, the Valentine’s Day Flower Sale
and book fairs. The group meets monthly for luncheons
and welcomes both active and associate members.
Student Volunteers
Students
must be at least 14 years old and commit to performing
a minimum of 50 hours of annual service to qualify to volunteer
at St. Vincent Hospital. Students
